In either 3 or 5 day formats these flagship courses are suitable for senior management and other operational teams. Sandstone has identified a number of key areas in which you must be confident and effective in order to be successful : Intelligence NOT Information, Presentation Skills, Negotiation Skills, Collaboration and Confrontation.
Each of these areas is often said to create the most stress and discomfort throughout organizations. Sandstone Inspiration courses address these key areas by immersing delegates in a series of challenging and exciting scenarios and seminars that equip them with usable skills, enabling them to return to work more effective in each of these key areas. Delegates will find themselves “doing not watching”.
The activities can be specifically tailored to each client and as well as practical class-room drills and exercises they may include team-building, leadership and communication skills exercises such as avalanche rescue drills, crevasse rescue drills, high performance driver communications exercises, hostage negotiation, Alpine zip wire and skiing exercises. In the evenings there will be a series of events and dinners with speakers selected from the Sandstone team, including Everest mountaineers, spies, fighter pilots and Olympic skiers.
Select which format best suits your team: either the 3 Day or the more in-depth 5 Day course.
Communication skills for leaders
If you are looking to develop effective leaders of the future or further develop the skills of your existing management or leadership team this course is for you.
Leading is so much more involved than managing. Everything you say, everything you do, even the way you dress communicates both to your team and to your customers. It portrays confidence or fear, creates gravitas or dissent. This course in either 3 or 5 day format will develop an awareness of what and how you are communicating. It will teach practical communication skills and strategy for a number of demanding scenarios:
- Extracting Intelligence from Information
- Leading a team
- Speaking in public and under pressure
- Critical decision making and delivery of that decision
- Delivering calm and effective leadership in challenging situations
